Bonang for Toju Foyeh

It’s often said that real style is never right or wrong, it’s only a matter of being yourself in the process. This, ladies and gentlemen, in case you ever wondered how Bonang slays in fashion, is how she does it.
Ever since she was introduced to the country on that popular music show, LIVE; she had a fun, fresh and fierce take on her style of which worked well with her effervescent personality.

screen-shot-2016-11-18-at-10-57-05-pmThen she moved to Top Billing, where a considerable amount of her fans were not sold on the “sudden move”, but soon changed their minds when they saw her black-swanning to a demure diva.
As a result, she has been able to be firm with her fashion decisions because she knows what works for her and when you’re used to seeing her in a certain way, she always reminds you theres another side to the coin.

Before we start counting down her best fashion moments over time, heres a brief history of what she had to go through.

“Fashion is what you’re offered four times a year by designers. And style is what you choose.” – Lauren Hutton

Lauren Hutton was on to something when she talked about choice. That makes fashion more fun because you get four seasons a year and then you have a list of designers from A to Z to choose from, and all you’re left with is to dive in that “pile of stuff” and emerge with style. This may have caused Bonang to be caught in a few love triangles because she made a faux pas of choosing what someone else may have chosen; which resulted in industry comedic fashion feuds like “Bitch stole my look” and “Who wore it best?

Whether it’s an Oscar de la Renta dress or a Gert Johan Coetzee frockit’s no doubt that Bonang’s choices would prompt one to pull out their fashion designer directory.

This may have slipped your mind but when Beyonce showed up at the 2014 Grammy awards; she wore the same white lace dress as Rihanna when she went to the NJR awards back in 2010. These are the kind of felonies that make the red-carpet more worth while. Take note how the lace was recycled only after four years.

“Over the years I’ve learned that whats important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.” – Yves Saint Laurent

Like everyone else, the Queen makes bad decisions too. Consider both these garments she wore to the YOU Spectacular awards and the SAMA’s this year. This is common, since there is a number of celebrities out there who have walked the red-carpet looking similar, another reason you will seldom see a Gavin Rajah dress doing the rounds in any of these award shows, because, fear of looking like a rip-off.

Turns out Bonang may have drawn inspiration from Kim Kardashian-West’s Met Gala from 2015 and 2016 and did it all in one year. Thanks to the bystanders who didn’t just stand and not say anything when she may have thought this would go unnoticed. Or, could this be a coincidence? Gavin Rajah may have said the same thing.

With a new man, her heart on the sleeve, a fabulous body, her fashion misdemeanors out in public and a book that’s set to hit the shelves in April 2017. Here are the 10 looks that solidify her true Style Star status:
