There are women who follow trends, and then there are those who set them. Lisa Madibe is undoubtedly the latter. Known affectionately online as “Lisa with the good hair,” she has turned her deep-rooted passion for haircare into a thriving empire, captivating her audience with effortless flair. What began as sharing educational wig tutorials has grown into HAIRLO Beauty—a brand built not only on quality but on community, confidence, and the belief that every woman deserves to feel like her most radiant self.

But behind the flawless hairstyles and polished content lies a story of relentless ambition. As a one-woman production powerhouse, Lisa balances the art of content creation with the demands of entrepreneurship, all while maintaining a vision bigger than any single post or product. As we celebrate International Women’s Month, Lisa opens up about her decade-long journey, the women who inspire her, and how HAIRLO is helping crown a new era of beauty—where self-expression, empowerment, and sisterhood reign supreme.

Your brand, HAIRLO Beauty, represents luxury and confidence. What inspired you to start your own hair business?

My passion for hair has been more than a decade in the making. What began as a simple desire to share educational hair videos quickly evolved into something much greater—a trusted platform where my audience sought expert guidance on wig care. What they didn’t realise was that their requests for me to sell hair were already aligned with my grand vision.

What was the journey like from launching HAIRLO Beauty to building it into the successful brand it is today?

The journey to launching HAIRLO was far from easy. It demanded relentless dedication, countless sleepless nights, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. I poured my heart into this brand every single day leading up to its debut, and even now, the journey continues. HAIRLO is constantly evolving, with exciting new looks, innovative projects, and bold expansions on the horizon.

Being both an entrepreneur and a digital content creator, how do you balance the two, and how do they complement each other?

Time management has been instrumental in my success. As a beauty and hair content creator, my career seamlessly intertwines with HAIRLO, allowing me to prioritise both without compromising on quality or creativity.

Hair has always been deeply tied to identity and self-expression. What do you want women to feel when they wear a HAIRLO Beauty wig?

My mission is clear: I want every woman who wears a HAIRLO wig to feel beautiful, empowered, and confident. The name itself—pronounced “halo”—symbolises the brilliance and radiance that every woman should exude.

You recently hosted a heartwarming Galentine’s event. Why was it important for you to celebrate sisterhood and empowerment through your brand?

HAIRLO is more than just a hair brand—it’s a movement, a community, a celebration of self-expression. I have personally connected with the women who wear our wigs, and they are nothing short of inspiring. They are entrepreneurs, go-getters, and trailblazers—women who invest in themselves unapologetically. That’s why I hosted a Galentine’s event—to honour their success, uplift their spirits, and give them the recognition they deserve. It was a heartfelt moment of collective celebration and empowerment.

The beauty industry is ever-changing. How do you plan on ensuring that HAIRLO Beauty stays ahead while maintaining its core essence?

Trends may come and go, but at HAIRLO, our foundation is built on one unwavering principle: quality. Premium hair is not easy to come by, and we refuse to compromise. Our commitment to excellence is what sets us apart and solidifies our place in the industry.

What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a woman entrepreneur, and how have you overcome them?

As a self-funded business, the challenges are real, and the demand is greater than ever. Every day, we tackle obstacles head-on, devising strategies to scale and meet the needs of our loyal clientele. HAIRLO is not just about selling wigs—it’s about creating a transformative experience that empowers women.

What does Women’s Month mean to you?

Women’s Month is a time to celebrate the incredible strength, beauty, and impact of women around the world. It’s about uplifting one another, honouring our journeys, and recognising the indispensable roles we play in society.

Confidence is at the heart of beauty. What are some of your personal beauty secrets or rituals that make you feel your best?

As cliché as it may sound, my ultimate beauty secret is simple: nourishing my body and mind. A healthy lifestyle, clean eating, and self-care are the foundation of feeling radiant from within—and that glow is irreplaceable.

HAIRLO Beauty is already making a good impression. What’s next for the brand and for Lisa Madibe?

We are on the brink of something extraordinary. New styles, expanded collections, and the highly anticipated launch of our website are all in motion. The future of HAIRLO is brighter than ever, and we can’t wait for our clients to experience what’s next.
