Now, more than a decade into her career, Dineo steps into her most significant role yet, playing “Amahle” in Netflix’s “Blood Legacy.” The electrifying series, which delves into a world of power, wealth, and family betrayal, sees Dineo bringing a new depth to the story of the troubled Ndlovu family.

In this exclusive interview, Dineo shares the inspiration behind her character, the lessons she’s learned along the way, and what it means to represent South Africa on the global stage.

You’ve appeared in numerous telenovelas over the years, but who is Dineo Rasedile today? How has your journey shaped the woman and actor you’ve become?

Dineo has become such a bold person! Working on incredible productions with people I’ve admired has built my confidence. It’s been just over 10 years, and in that time, I’ve grown in patience, resilience, and my craft.

In Blood Legacy, you play Amahle, a determined young woman who fights for justice. What drew you to her character, and how did you bring her to life?

Amahle is a headstrong 17-year-old who stands firmly by her beliefs, and I found that inspiring. I had to tap into the vulnerability that comes with being that age—still figuring yourself out. I also thought about the physical aspects: how she moves, how she carries herself. That helped me embody who she really is.

Given the emotional intensity of Blood Legacy, what has the role taught you as an actor? Has it helped you grow in unexpected ways?

Working on Blood Legacy with such a talented ensemble reminded me how important it is to be an open and giving actor. The role also reinforced the need to hold on to something you deeply believe in—both on-screen and off.

With Blood Legacy streaming on Netflix, the show is now reaching audiences worldwide. How does it feel to represent South African talent on such a major platform?

I’m incredibly proud to represent South Africa through a production of this caliber. We belong on the world stage, and it’s been overwhelming to see how well the show is being received globally.

Looking back at your career, was there a specific moment when you knew acting was what you were meant to do?

Definitely. My first time on a drama series set was for Saints and Sinners. It was just one scene, no lines. But I spent the whole day on set, and I was in awe of how everything came together. Even my small part felt essential to the story. That experience unlocked something in me, and I knew—this is what I want to do every day.

What passions or interests inspire you outside of acting?

I love working with children. Their sense of wonder and purity inspires me to see the world differently. I also love nature—being by the ocean, hiking in the mountains, or horse-riding. It keeps me grounded.

Are there any dream roles or genres you’re eager to explore in the future?

I’d love to star in a psychological thriller—something gripping, with a layered character the audience loves to hate. That’s the kind of role I find really exciting.

What advice would you give to young actors trying to break into the industry?

Surround yourself with a great support system. This industry is tough on many levels, and having people who ground you makes all the difference. Also, stay curious and open to learning. And always prepare—you can’t cheat the work.

What’s next for you? Any exciting projects or roles on the horizon?

I just wrapped filming an action drama that I can’t wait to share. There are also some incredible projects in the pipeline. It’s a beautiful season—watch this space!
