As is their custom, the Mitch Brothers (MBs) from Ghana have unveiled an artistic project to mark their 27th birthday celebration. After a glamorous party to mark their 25th birthday and a gala for their 26th, Nana Mitch and Schardo Mitch return with a personal documentary tagged “From Sefwi to Accra.”
Set against the theme, “The toil that inspired the journey to success,” the documentary is an ode to their mother Paulina Gyabeng, also known as Porna. The brothers celebrate their heroine’s unwavering grit, hope, and remarkable bravery with the self-produced and co-directed film. At 23, Paulina faced insurmountable odds, including the untimely loss of her mother and the destruction of her livelihood. Yet, her steadfast determination to support her twin boys became the seed that propelled them toward a destiny steeped in creativity and success. “Her story is at the heart of everything we do,” shares Nana Mitch.
The chronicle also features the Mitch Brothers and their friends as they relive the dreams and determination of those who dared to leave the familiar for the unknown. Set in the 90s, the montage showcases the Mitch Brothers and their mother, Paulina Gyabeng, alongside friends like Naa Amerley, St. Olivia, Dulcie Boateng, Angie Safo, Abena Bambi, Johnny Porium, Samuel Nkrumah, dressed in vintage outfits as they board a train bound for Accra.
Padmond Annor and Padmond Annor Jr., famously known as Nana Mitch and Schardo Mitch, are no strangers to breaking boundaries. As Ghana’s first Snapchat lens creator, Nana Mitch made history by surpassing 200,000 followers on the platform, with his lenses garnering over a billion views. In 2022, he gained international recognition, debuting on Johnny Walker and Trace Africa’s Keep Walking: Africa Top 30 list as one of the continent’s Next-Gen Cultural Shapeshifters.
Together, the Mitch Brothers have become prominent figures in social media, celebrated for their creativity and influence. Their rise has also earned them ambassadorial deals with notable brands such as Pizzaman-Chickenman, Duffy’s Health & Beauty, Ridge Condos, and CompuGhana.
Beyond their achievements, the brothers have picked up nominations at major awards shows, including the GhanaWeb Youth Excellence Awards (2022), Visa King RTP Awards (2023), and Ghana Entertainment Awards USA (2024). Their latest recognition comes from the Pulse Influencer Awards (2024), cementing their status as cultural innovators shaping Ghana’s creative scene.
