The narrative we’re receiving is that Serena Williams had a mother of all meltdowns in US final loss. We had to follow up and understand what happened, and also get to hear what Serena and Twitter had to say. We’ve attached some receipts for events that occurred in detail.
In this day and age it’s important to mention Serana Williams arrived wearing a pink NIKE top at the 2018 US Open press conference. When asked how would she explain the events of what occurred to her daughter, Alexis olympia, when she’s old if enough; and if she could have handled things differently… this was Serena’s response: “I’ll tell her I stood up for what I believed in. I stood up for what was right. Sometimes in life things doesn’t happen the way we always want them but always stay gracious and humble, and I think its a lesson we can all learn from this just like I did”
The ongoing debate online is also that Serena was treated differently compared to men who’ve behaved worse. When Serena was asked if she could change one thing about what occurred, her response was “…I’m here fighting for women’s rights, for women’s equality and for all kinds of stuff. For me to say ‘thief’ and take away the game? It made me feel like it was a sexist remark…” Serena added.
On the side of losing fans here’s what one fan had to share regarding the situation:
After the shamefull presentation of @serenawilliams on the @usopen final. I shared one of the best messages I found about it. #SerenaWilliams you lost one fan today 👎🏼. pic.twitter.com/1sMFKNdkBX

On the side of the internet supporting Serena Williams and proving her point. Here’s a video shared on twitter by Lethal Shooter of man losing it completely:
My reaction to people saying Serena was disrespectful, ghetto, shes a sore loser, tennis players shouldn’t show emotion to umpire, stay in a ladies place. When men show emotion we let it go. The sec a female shows emotion we want them to be lady like. No! They have PASSION also!💯 pic.twitter.com/4QWNcgszFd

A lot can be said about what’s currently going on, but we know most women are outraged at the treatment Serena Williams have been receiving based on so many on-going factors:
This is enraging just to watch. Every woman and girl who has been treated unjustly knows that shake in her voice. And I understand how especially painful this is for Black women and girls to watch. pic.twitter.com/4Ag25m58Pg h:t @rerutled #serenawilliams #USOpenFinal
