VODACOM TAKES SOUTH AFRICAN YOUTH TO THE NXT LVL

South Africa’s most empowered telecommunications company, Vodacom, has unveiled Vodacom NXT LVL (pronounced Next Level) – a youth brand aimed at South African Youth under the age of 25. Vodacom NXT LVL is designed to enable and support the youth on their journey to success.  At its core, the brand is about using technology as an enabler through which success is truly within reach of South African youth.

Hosted by the Queen of South African media Bonang Matheba, the game-changing event also saw performances from the likes of Hip Hop maestro Ricky Rick, Ms Cosmo and much to the delight of every lady in attendance, Lulo Café, who opened the festivities with his blazing commercial house mix.

The event was attended by Mzansi’s ubiquitous and most familiar faces including actress and presenter Thando Thabethe, Top Billing heartthrob Jonathan Boynton Lee, model and actress Jay Anstey, comedian Tol Ass Mo with wife Mome, actor and model Nkuli Tshirumbule, “Yipikayay” hit song maker, Reason, soccer legends Lucas Radebe, Marc Fish and Portia Modise, Stylist Tshepi Vundla and reality tv star Blue Mbambo, to name but a few.

The launch of Vodacom NXT LVL and the soccer talent search forms part of a shared vision across the organisation and amongst the business leadership team to live our brand purpose of ensuring all South Africans are confidently connected.

“The youth continue to be an important demographic for Vodacom and as a business, we aim to always provide this important customer with products and services that really take them to the NXT LVL, powered by technology” says Chief Officer at Vodacom, Jorge Mendes.

As our youth demographic continues to grow, it was very important for us to create an engaging platform that allows young people to live their passion and realize their dreams through the discovering and nurturing of different talents,” said Mzamo Masito, Vodacom Brand Director.

To participate in the talent search, all hopefuls can showcase their soccer skills by uploading their videos on vodacomnxtlvl.co.za, or attending Vodacom NXT LVL activations around the country and their friends, family and South Africa will be able to view, vote and share in their journey to success.
